DoorDash is an American door to door food delivery service based in San Fransisco California. It has operations in over 4,000 cities across the United States, Canada and Australia.
DoorDash deliveries are typically done properly but there are times where there are issues with an order. The issue might be that your delivery takes too long which negates the need for the order.
If that happens, it is your right to cancel the order and ask DoorDash for a refund. You can also ask for a refund if there are missing items from your order which take too long to fulfill.
You can report missing items in your DoorDash order using the following process:
1. Launch the DoorDash application.
2. Go to ‘Orders.'
3. Select the order with the missing items.
4. Tap ‘Help' in the top corner of the order page.'
5. Go to ‘Order Issues' and the subsequently go to ‘Missing Items' and choose the items that were missing from the order.
6. Include any extra information in the ‘Details' section.
7. Confirm the details and then tap ‘Submit' to send your report.
However, you should know what DoorDash's refund policy entails before you proceed to ask them for a refund.
DoorDash Refund Policy
You will have to first cancel your order if you want to receive a refund from DoorDash. According to DoorDash, you can only cancel an order before the restaurant starts preparing it.
You can find out the status of your order by logging on to the app. On the order status page, you should see at what stage your order is.
If the order has not yet been prepared, then you can cancel your order immediately and the processing for the refund will begin.
It is DoorDash's policy that charges you pay for delivered and completed orders are completely non-refundable. Therefore, even if you received the incorrect order or had missing items, you will not receive a refund for the service charges. However, they may refund the charges in special situations but only at their own discretion.
DoorDash has a subscription program known as Dashpass that costs about ten dollars a month. The program allows you to receive free delivery for any orders above $15.
You may receive a refund for the subscription fee if you cancel it within 48 hours. You will also receive a refund if you cancel your annual subscription within 30 days.
You will receive a refund for a Dashpass member order if you cancel the order. However, you need to cancel the order before it is prepared.
Requesting Your Refund

1. Launch the DoorDash app or open the DoorDash website.
2. Click ‘Contact Us' at the top of the home page to head to the DoorDash Support or Help page.
3. Once you are on the Help page, you should see three options for customers, merchants and dashers. Click ‘I am a customer.'
4. Next, click the ‘Customer Chat' tab.
5. You will be presented with the option to call or chat with customer support. Choose ‘customer chat.' You will be required to wait on the chat line for at least a minute.
6. You will be prompted to fill in personal details like your name, email, phone number and problem description.
7. Once you are done, click ‘Start Chatting.'
